Buzzards Bay Regatta

Some other stuff

The 28’s are beating the 31’s boat for boat. Whether the 28 teams are better is certainly no question in my case. As for the other 31’s, Jesse Dupree, winner of the 31 class, told me this is the first time he has raced SORN in windward/leewards. Isn’t that nice to know.

John Alvord, on Triceratops (Dino), races with his dog, and kids, and cute little blue Triceratops hats.

Rob Blesse, has team shirts for every day of the regatta.

The handicap for the 28’s may be a little generous considering the level of competition that has evolved.

I think the one-design aspect of the 28R is a big help in performance development.

The 28’s are quite a bit easier to work in light air, WAIT, WAIT, THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION!

I don’t believe the 28s are having any more fun than the 31s.

Besides it isn’t like us easties have legends like Leneman to help us heat up our 31 skills.

Participation.

36 boats said they were coming to race,(the NO MAYBE group). 28 boats actually showed.

Criticism.

Being critical and negative is easy and seldom successful. I can prove it, check the race results for Loose Cannon, Corsair Nationals 2008.

Constructive criticism, the kind that generates changes that create results, takes more effort. Enrolling people in extensive thankless volunteering is an art, getting those volunteers to continue to make the effort and improve the product, takes a lot more than name calling.

Enough, back to the not so serious.
